The process of obtaining a USA green card begins with providing your own data for free. At this point, you don’t even need to have a valid passport, but you do need to be sure how your name will be written in English.
To apply for the free US green card lottery, you need to follow a few simple steps
- Ask someone to take a photo of you in front of a white background (you can use a phone)
- Make a square photo in Photoshop and then use the official cropper tool https://tsg.phototool.state.gov/photo
- Open the official website of the DV lottery to obtain a US green card https://dvprogram.state.gov and spend 5 minutes filling out all the necessary data

- The application period is annually from early October to early November
- You can check results at the beginning of May on next year
