Why do we need ERP/ETK?
ERP/ETK is the process of closing KITAS outside Indonesia (such types as student, working, investor, family, repatriation, retirement, nomad).
The purpose of obtaining an ERP/ETK for KITAS cancellation is to have a legally clean relationship between you and the previous company by returning all original documents to the authorities.
If you do not plan to live with your current KITAS/KITAP in Indonesia, your KITAS must be closed. You may also have decided not to extend your KITAS or to get another Indonesian visa.
You can close your KITAS both domestically and internationally if your KITAS expired while you were outside Indonesia.
ERP/ETK is an offshore procedure to close your KITAS, i.e. when you have already left the country. For this, you will need your boarding pass, a copy of the photo page of your passport, your exit stamp in your passport, your visa and your e-ITAS. As a result, you will receive a PDF file from us confirming the closure of your KITAS.
This regulation can be further explained as follows:
- When a foreigner moves to a new company or changes KITAS sponsors, an ERP/ETK must be obtained before being able to get a new work permit.
- When a foreigner changes the type of KITAS, for example from a work KITAS to a retirement KITAS, ERP/ETK is needed.
- When a foreigner resigns from a job and will no longer work in Indonesia, an ERP/ETK can be submitted only after leaving Indonesia.
Leaving Indonesia without KITAS Cancellation
You may have decided to leave Indonesia with a valid KITAS and then not return to the country. However, if you plan to re-enter Indonesia and your KITAS expired while you were abroad, you will face administrative immigration issues.
Once the Indonesian immigration officer learns that your KITAS has not been canceled by ERP/ETK, you will be interrogated upon your return to Indonesia. Otherwise, you will be denied entry to Indonesia at any time.
Without the closure of KITAS, you cannot get a new visa 211A/C2 or new KITAS.
Conditions
The ERP/ETK process takes about 3-5 working days. Once you receive the ETK in PDF format from us, you can apply for a new visa/KITAS.
