Overview: When the Sponsor Must Be an Indonesian Citizen (WNI)
Not all visas in Indonesia can be sponsored by a company or by Flado directly.
Some visa types — especially family-based visas and KITAS under the E31 category — must be sponsored exclusively by an Indonesian citizen (WNI).
This applies when the foreign applicant is the spouse, child, stepchild, adopted child, or parent of an Indonesian citizen.
Flado handles the entire process — registering the WNI sponsor account, preparing all documents, submitting applications, and following up — but the name of the legal sponsor must still be the WNI.
E31 Visa Categories Requiring WNI Sponsor
| Spouse of Indonesian Citizen (E31A) | Marriage to an Indonesian citizen. Allows family reunion. Employment or education-related activities can be reported through the multiple activity process to permit work or study. |
| Child of Indonesian Citizen (E31C) | Family reunion if the sponsor parent is Indonesian. Not convertible to KITAP. Employment or education-related activities can be reported and approved by Immigration. |
| Stepchild of Indonesian Citizen (E31D) | Family reunion if the sponsor parent is Indonesian. Not convertible to KITAP. Allows attending education once reported and approved by Immigration. |
| Legally Adopted Child of Indonesian Citizen (E31F) | Family reunion if the sponsor parent is Indonesian. Allows attending education in Indonesia once reported and approved. |
| Parent of Indonesian Citizen (E31G) | Family reunion if the sponsor adult child is Indonesian (minimum age 21). Allows attending education once reported and approved by Immigration. |
Sponsor Account Registration Requirements (WNI Personal Immigration Account)
Before applying for any E31 visa or KITAS, the Indonesian sponsor must have a valid WNI Personal Immigration Account.
Required documents:
• KTP
• KK
• Birth Certificate
• Photograph
• Confirmation that the WNI acts as Sponsor and Guarantor
• The WNI Sponsor Account must be fully approved before the visa application can begin

According to Immigration, the estimated processing time for a WNI Immigration Account is:
• 5–7 working days

Requirements from the Foreign Applicant (WNA)
For applicants under: E31A, E31C, E31D, E31F, E31G
• Passport valid at least 1 year
• Bank Statement (last 3 months)
• Recent photograph
• Relationship documents (marriage certificate, birth certificate, adoption certificate, etc.)
• If the marriage certificate was issued abroad: must be reported to the Indonesian Embassy (pencatatan)
• Any additional documents linking the relationship to the WNI sponsor
Once the WNI sponsor account is approved, Flado submits the full application for the relevant E31 visa or KITAS.
