Before you apply
| Case | Important rule |
|---|---|
| Eligible nationality with e-passport / IC passport | The form can show the online and worldwide simplified Visa Exemption route. Residence permit in Indonesia is not required for this simplified route. |
| Indonesian citizen with e-passport / IC passport | Visa Exemption is normally the easiest route for short trips up to 15 days. For a longer tourist stay, Single Entry e-Visa / Sticker Visa may be requested through Indonesia. |
| Indonesian citizen with ordinary passport | Visa Exemption is not available. The form will show e-Visa / Sticker Visa only. If you plan future Japan trips, making an e-passport / IC passport is usually better than using an ordinary passport. |
| Single Entry up to 90 days | A 90-day tourist stay may be possible under the Single Entry visa route when the applicant can provide a complete and consistent proof package: flight reservation, stay plan, accommodation, funds, occupation/business/student proof and other supporting documents requested by Flado. |
| Foreign applicant needing e-Visa / Sticker Visa in Indonesia | KITAS or KITAP is required for this flow. Without KITAS/KITAP, please check Indonesian residence permit options first. |
| Visa Center jurisdiction in Indonesia | For Indonesian citizens using e-Visa / Sticker Visa, the Visa Center city is determined strictly by the province shown in KTP. For foreign residents, the same logic is applied using the KITAS/KITAP address. The form assigns only the city and does not show full addresses. |
| Application forms | The Japan visa application form and itinerary may be completed by computer or by hand. Signature must be handwritten with a pen. |

Visa Exemption processing is normally minimum 3 working days and may take longer. For Single Entry, a stay up to 90 days can be requested when the proof package is complete, but approval and final validity remain discretionary. Public holidays in Japan or Indonesia may extend the timeline. Japan public holiday calendar: Japan holiday calendar.
