- Residency Requirement: Starting from 2025, only Indonesian citizens and official residents (KITAS or KITAP holders) can apply for a U.S. visa in Indonesia. If you are on a Tourist Visa, Visa on Arrival (VoA), or any other short-term pass, you are no longer eligible to apply here. The consulate requires strong proof of ties to your country of residence to prevent immigration risks.
- No Interpreters Allowed: Interpreters are strictly prohibited from entering U.S. consular facilities in Indonesia. You must complete the interview yourself. However, do not worry—the interview requires only basic English, and the questions are usually straightforward.
- Green Card Lottery Cancelled: Please note that as of 2025, the Diversity Visa (Green Card) Lottery program has been cancelled. Consequently, we no longer offer registration services for this program.

Which is better: Jakarta or Surabaya?

Currently, Surabaya often offers faster available appointment slots for Tourist (B1/B2) visas. Additionally, if you are flying from Bali, Surabaya is geographically closer and offers a shorter, more convenient flight. However, both Jakarta and Surabaya have excellent international airports, leaving the final choice up to your personal schedule.
