Due to the ongoing eruption of Mount Lewotobi on Flores Island, Indonesia, the government has introduced new visa policies to assist foreign nationals stranded in the country. Travelers are encouraged to provide proof of canceled flights to immigration officials in order to qualify for specific extensions and accommodations.
New Visa Policies for Affected Travelers
Indonesia’s Directorate General of Immigration has implemented the following policies:
- ITK 60-Day Visa Holders: Eligible for an additional 30-day ITKT visa extension.
- VOA Holders (Extendable): Advised to extend their VOA (Visa on Arrival) for continued legal stay.
- VOA Holders (Non-Extendable): Can apply for a 30-day ITKT extension.
- Foreign Nationals with an EPO: Eligible for a 30-day ITKT extension if their permit has expired.
The extension fee for each 30-day ITKT is set at IDR 500,000.
