How to Get an SKTT in Bali — and Why Your KITAS Agent Doesn’t Handle It

Obtaining an SKTT (Surat Keterangan Tempat Tinggal) is an important step after receiving your KITAS or KITAP, especially if you plan to open a bank account, purchase a car or motorbike, or simply complete your set of residency documents in Indonesia.

However, it’s essential to understand that getting a KITAS or KITAP does not automatically include non-immigration documents such as:

These documents are issued by different local government departments, not by immigration, and each office has its own territorial jurisdiction.

Who Issues the SKTT in Bali

The SKTT is issued by Dukcapil (the Civil Registration Department) according to your official domicile address, as written in your domicile letter from your local banjar or kelurahan.

Examples:

  • If your address is in Sanur (Denpasar) — apply at Dukcapil Denpasar
  • If your domicile is in Badung — apply at Dukcapil Badung
  • If you live in Bandung (Java) — apply through Dukcapil Bandung

Each office works only for its specific district, which limits the ability of agencies such as Flado Indonesia to handle this process directly across all Bali areas.

SKTT Requirements

To apply for an SKTT, you need to prepare the following:

  • Copy of your passport (all pages with personal data and visa)
  • Copy of your e-KITAS / KITAP
  • Domicile Letter from your local banjar
  • 3×4 cm photo on a red background
  • Completed Dukcapil application form (available at their office)

The list of requirements may vary slightly between Denpasar and Badung.
You can find the latest details directly from Dukcapil Denpasar or Dukcapil Badung.

Who Can Help You Apply

Since SKTT is a local civil document, it often requires assistance from someone who lives in the same area.
If you’re renting accommodation, you can ask for help from:

  • the owner of your villa, apartment, or house;
  • your landlord;
  • or Indonesian neighbors from the same banjar or kelurahan.

They can confirm your domicile letter and sometimes assist with communication at the Dukcapil office.

Why Your KITAS Agent Might Not Be Able to Help

Flado Indonesia specializes in visas, KITAS, and KITAP services at the national immigration level, but the SKTT, STM, and domicile letter are part of local civil administration processes.

Therefore, we can:
✅ Prepare all required documents if your domicile is in Badung;
✅ Guide you to the correct Dukcapil office and explain the submission process;
❌ But we cannot physically submit your SKTT application in Denpasar if you live outside our service area.

SKTT Fee and Coverage

Our official service rate:

SKTT in Bali (selected districts only) – 2,500,000 IDR

This fee covers document preparation, consultation, and direction to the correct Dukcapil office.
Please note that the submission must be done personally by the foreign resident.

Data Protection and Document Policy

We understand that clients sometimes request sponsor documents for related procedures.
However, Flado Indonesia does not share or release copies of sponsor documents without:

  • a valid purpose and recipient stated in writing,
  • completed internal request forms, and
  • payment for the related service.

We take data privacy and document security very seriously — both for our clients and our company.
Any document issued by Flado Indonesia is intended only for submission to relevant government authorities, not for private redistribution.

Requests such as “Please send me the documents, I’ll handle it myself” cannot be accepted without proper documentation.
This protects our clients from data misuse and maintains compliance with Indonesian administrative standards.
