Bali Immigration Launches URC DEWATA: What Tourists, Performers and KITAS Holders Should Know

Ngurah Rai Immigration announced a new rapid-response intelligence unit, URC DEWATA, on 23 September 2026. For anyone visiting, performing or running a business in Bali, the practical message is straightforward: choose your visa around what you will actually do in Indonesia.

Planning a holiday? You can apply for a tourist visa through Flado’s online visa application portal. Planning a performance, professional service, business assignment or employment? Send the details through the special-request button below so Flado can identify the relevant service and next steps.

What has changed in Bali’s immigration monitoring?

According to the official Ngurah Rai Immigration announcement, URC DEWATA brings together intelligence, enforcement, cyber and media monitoring, patrols, public relations and administration. Its workflow covers monitoring information, initial verification, analysis, coordinated follow-up and field action, supported by digital records.

The announcement describes a change in how suspected violations are handled. It does not announce new visa categories, fees or application documents. For applicants and sponsors, our practical takeaway is to make sure the planned activity, supporting documents and purpose of stay are consistent.

The Canggu DJ investigation: why the activity matters

In a separate report published on 27 September, ANTARA cited Ngurah Rai Immigration regarding an operation in Canggu on 24 September. Three foreigners were being investigated over suspected misuse of their stay permits while performing as DJs. Two held Visa on Arrival permits and one held an investor ITAS. A fourth person was detained over an alleged 402-day overstay.

The report described an ongoing investigation, not a final finding against the performers. It illustrates why a valid permit and an unexpired stay are only part of the assessment: the activity itself also needs to fit the permission held.

Visiting Bali for tourism? Apply through the Flado portal

If your trip is for tourism, start at app.flado.id. The portal offers B1 e-VOA, C1 single-entry tourist visas and D1 multiple-entry tourist visas, with the available options, prices and processing choices shown during the application.

Choose the option that fits your nationality, travel dates and intended visits, enter your details, upload the requested documents and complete payment. Check your selection before paying. If you are already in Indonesia, explain your current status: a new entry visa should not be assumed to extend your current stay.

Performing, filming or providing services? Describe the full assignment

A DJ set, sponsored shoot, professional workshop or assignment for an Indonesian venue deserves an activity-specific assessment. A job title alone does not provide enough information to choose a visa. Neither does describing an engagement as a holiday, collaboration or unpaid appearance.

When sending your request, include:

  • Your nationality, travel dates and whether you are currently in Indonesia.
  • Your current visa or stay permit and its expiry date, if applicable.
  • What you will do, where, for whom and whether it is a one-off or recurring engagement.
  • The organizer, venue, company or sponsor involved.
  • Payment arrangements, including fees, sponsorship, accommodation or other benefits.
  • Relevant event posters, invitations, contracts or a short description of the assignment.

For background, read Flado’s guide to artist visas and Artist KITAS. Use it to understand the options, then send the actual engagement details before choosing a route.

Have an investor KITAS or an Indonesian company?

Do not assume that an investor KITAS covers every role you might perform for your own company or another business. Explain your shareholding, formal position and actual duties when requesting assistance. A director’s responsibilities, a specialist employment role and an appearance as a performer can require different assessments.

See our Investor KITAS information, Work Permit and Working KITAS guide and Flado Business services for the relevant service areas. Send company, employment and other special requests through the button below, including the details of the role you need to arrange.

Start with the purpose of your trip

For a tourist visa, apply through app.flado.id. For performances, employment, investment, business assignments or any situation that needs individual handling, send a special request. Providing the real activity, dates and current immigration status gives Flado the information needed to move your enquiry forward.
