Family relocation starts with school enrollment

For international families, school enrollment can become the foundation for a legal long-term stay plan in Indonesia.

The correct order is:

  1. Parents contact Empathy School and discuss school enrollment.
  2. The child is accepted by the school and the study plan is confirmed.
  3. The school confirms whether the Student KITAS route through Flado can be supported.
  4. Flado checks the family’s visa situation and documents.
  5. The child’s Student KITAS process can be prepared.
  6. After that, eligible family members may proceed with related Family KITAS options.

This keeps the process clean and transparent: school first, visa support after school approval.

Student KITAS first, then family options

If the child studies at Empathy School and the school approves the Student KITAS route through Flado, the child’s education may become the starting point for family relocation planning.

Depending on the case, this may include:

  • Student KITAS for the child;
  • parent KITAS options for eligible parents;
  • sibling KITAS options for brothers and sisters;
  • onshore application options where available;
  • offshore application options where required;
  • onshore extensions and renewals;
  • new KITAS cycles every 2 years, depending on the visa type and current regulations.

Each family case is different. The correct route depends on the child’s school approval, current visa status, passport validity, family documents and immigration rules at the time of application.

Can the whole family stay in Indonesia legally?

For many families, the answer may be yes, but the route must be checked individually.

Some families may be able to apply from inside Indonesia through an onshore process. Some families may need an offshore application. Some cases require a new visa first, while others may be eligible for an extension or status conversion route.

Flado can check your situation and explain which option is realistic for your family.
