New visas to Indonesia in 2024: same rules, but new codes

From January 9, 2024, Indonesian Immigration introduced new types of visas and new lengths of stay for tourism and business needs. We will tell you about changes in Indonesian immigration legislation and the application system evisa.imigrasi.go.id.

New indexes for Single-Entry visas:

  • The most popular Tourist Visa to Indonesia for a period of 60 to 180 days has been transferred from the B211A index to the new 211A index;
  • Business Single-Entry visa B211A now has the index C2.

Multiple-Entry visa moved from the D212 index and get a validity of 1, 2 and 5 years:

  • Tourist Multiple-Entry visa has the index D1;
  • Business Multiple-Entry visa has the index D2.

Retirement Golden Visa E33E

The Golden Visa (ITAS) type E33E, called Silver Hair Visa, is a new convenient option for foreigners aged 60 years and above to stay in Indonesia for up to 5 years, with subsequent extension of stay. Golden visa is a good alternative to the old Retirement KITAS for 1 year. To obtain this visa, you need to deposit at least 50.000 USD in a government bank.

Investment Golden Visas for 5 or 10 years are available for:

  • Individual investors planning to open a company in Indonesia. For an investment of US$2.5 million, a residence period of 5 years is allowed, and for an investment of US$5 million, a residence period of 10 years is allowed. The visa has the index E28B. The visa is extendable.
  • Individual investors investing in the purchase of Indonesian government bonds or shares of Indonesian companies. An investment of US$350,000 is eligible for a 5-year stay, while an investment of US$700,000 is eligible for a 10-year stay. Buying a flat or apartment for US$1 million allows you to stay in Indonesia for 10 years. The visa has the index E28C. The visa is extendable.

EVOA (Visa on Arrival) now also has 2 types: Tourism and Business

The rules for a 30-day visa say that such a visa is allowed only for 97 countries.
