Indonesia Is Connecting Its Foreign Employment Systems. What Does That Mean for a Working KITAS?

On 9 September 2026, Indonesia’s Ministry of Immigration and Corrections, Ministry of Manpower, and Ministry of Investment and Downstream Industry/BKPM signed agreements supporting the integration of data across OSS, SIAP, and All Indonesia. The government described the cooperation as part of improving services involving foreign workers and investors. Read the official announcement.

For an Indonesian company hiring a foreign employee, more connected systems could eventually mean less duplicated information and clearer coordination between authorities. It may also make inconsistencies in company and employee records easier to detect.

The agreements do not yet introduce a new Working KITAS procedure, a guaranteed processing time, or automatic approval. Employers applying now still need to prepare their cases under the current process.

At Flado, we know what that preparation involves. Our recent work with PT Helm Care Indonesia and PT Living Landscapes Indonesia illustrates why a Working KITAS is a managed corporate project, not a single visa form.

Why does a Working KITAS take so much preparation?

An Indonesian employer may need to address its Ministry of Manpower registration and RPTKA, workforce reporting, BPJS, the proposed job title, the foreign employee’s qualifications, and government account access before the immigration application can be completed.

The relevant records may involve the Ministry of Manpower, Immigration, BPJS, OSS/BKPM, tax administration, and corporate registration. The exact route depends on the company and the employee. A PT PMA and a locally owned PT can both start an assessment, but their records, proposed employment arrangements, and readiness must be checked individually.

An article or an AI conversation can explain the terminology. It cannot inspect your company’s registrations, determine who holds its account credentials, assess whether the proposed position fits the business, or resolve a government officer’s request for different evidence.

That is the work a case manager does with the actual documents.

Case study: PT Helm Care Indonesia

Flado assisted PT Helm Care Indonesia with employer-side preparation and the Ministry of Manpower process. The case shows how an application can advance through substantive feedback rather than following a straight line from submission to approval.

On 20 August 2026, the authority did not accept the proposed Mechanical Advisor arrangement. Its feedback described that position in the company’s trading sector as temporary or short-term. The proposed role therefore needed further attention in the context of the actual employment application.

The process subsequently advanced under the Technical Manager position. It also required stronger supporting materials. On 31 August, the Ministry of Manpower requested clearer or more valid education documentation and translations, evidence of competence or relevant work experience, and insurance documentation with a suitable translation.

Flado coordinated the case through those requests. On 1 September, the Ministry of Manpower system recorded verification approved for the Technical Manager application. A following status update showed that the DKPTKA payment instruction could be issued.

That progression demonstrates the practical work involved: dealing with feedback on the position, gathering and improving evidence, coordinating the employer’s response, and monitoring the application until it reached the next government stage.

The DKPTKA payment instruction is a Ministry of Manpower milestone. It does not mean that an immigration visa or KITAS has already been issued. Distinguishing those stages is part of giving an employer an accurate picture of its case.

Case study: PT Living Landscapes Indonesia

Flado’s work with PT Living Landscapes Indonesia demonstrates a different challenge: pursuing a two-year employment approval rather than treating the longest option on a price list as an automatic entitlement.

The company operates in a specialist field. Its publicly reported discussions with the Institut Teknologi Sumatera and Way Kambas National Park have concerned conservation, biodiversity research, and related planning. Read the institute’s report.

In Flado’s ongoing corporate case, the requested two-year term has been approved at the Ministry of Manpower employment stage. That is a significant result for the employer and a basis for progressing the remaining steps. The case is being brought toward completion.

A two-year selection in a calculator is only a request. Whether an employer can obtain that term depends on the authority’s assessment of the application. Equally, an approved employment-stage term should not be described as an already issued two-year KITAS: immigration processing is a separate stage.

The two cases show different forms of casework. Helm Care required responses to an objection about the role and requests for better evidence. Living Landscapes reached the requested two-year employment approval. Neither result came from simply selecting an option online.

See the budget before starting the case

If your company has a PT PMA or a locally owned PT, start with Flado’s Working KITAS budget calculator. It lets you select the route, requested validity, processing speed, and corporate preparation services relevant to your situation.

The calculator separates Flado’s payable subtotal from the estimated DKPTKA government contribution and displays an estimated total project budget. This matters because the government contribution and Flado’s service charges are different parts of the cost.

For example, a two-year calculation may include the Working KITAS package, selected corporate setup work, and an estimated two-year DKPTKA contribution. The result depends on the options chosen; it is not a fixed quote for every employer or a promise that the requested two-year term will be approved.

Before submitting your selections or proceeding to payment, take screenshots of the options you selected and the budget displayed. You and your manager can then refer to the same scope and calculation.

If you want the background first, read our Working Visa and KITAS guide. If you are ready to assess your company’s budget, you can go straight to the calculator.

What happens after payment?

For a Working KITAS case, Flado begins detailed document analysis after payment. This differs from some of our simpler services because reviewing an employer’s registrations, employee documents, proposed position, and application route is itself substantial casework.

After payment, we receive the notification and a personal manager contacts you to organise the company and foreign employee documents. The manager checks what is ready, identifies missing items, coordinates the applicable employment and immigration stages, and explains any additional work that the actual records reveal.

We cannot know in advance whether your BPJS and workforce records are current, whether insurance or translations will need attention, or whether access to the company’s government accounts must be restored. The calculator helps you plan; the document review establishes the case’s actual scope.

You may request cancellation and a refund in accordance with Flado’s Terms & Conditions. The refundable amount depends on the work already performed and applicable conditions; payment or refund processing commissions may be 0–4%.

Ready to bring a foreign employee into your Indonesian company? Calculate your Working KITAS budget, save screenshots of your selections, submit the information, and complete payment. Your personal manager will then contact you to begin organising the case as quickly as its documents and the government process allow.
