Already living in Indonesia with your Indonesian husband or wife and offered a job by a local company? You may be able to keep your family stay permit while completing the employment approvals and registering the additional work activity with Immigration.
For an eligible E31A spouse ITAS holder, the route confirmed to Flado by Immigration’s support service is RPTKA first, followed by Concurrent Activity. This allows the existing family permit to remain the basis of residence, rather than applying for a new company-sponsored Working KITAS.
Flado’s base service fees for a fully prepared case are IDR 4,500,000 for the RPTKA application and IDR 2,000,000 for Concurrent Activity reporting. The combined base is IDR 6,500,000, excluding the applicable DKPTKA government levy and any additional preparation or account support.

Can an E31A spouse KITAS holder work in Indonesia?
Yes, subject to completing the requirements for the proposed employment and additional immigration activity. Being married to an Indonesian citizen does not, by itself, complete a company’s foreign-employment paperwork.
Flado asked the Directorate General of Immigration’s official support channel about an E31A holder who wanted to take a professional role with a PT PMA while retaining a spouse-sponsored permit. Support replied:
“untuk ITAS E31A dapat digunakan untuk bekerja juga kak, silahkan ajukan RPTKA tersebut lalu ajukan Concurrent Activity sesuai permohonannya”
In English: an E31A ITAS can also be used for work; submit the RPTKA application, then apply for Concurrent Activity for the relevant activity.
This is case-specific guidance received by Flado, not an approval of an individual application or a newly enacted regulation. It gives a clear sequence for preparing this type of case: keep the existing family residence basis, complete the employer’s manpower process, and register the work activity with Immigration.

Does this also apply to a spouse KITAP?
The framework also recognises eligible family ITAP holders. The Ministry of Manpower’s published explanation addresses both temporary and permanent stay permits sponsored by an Indonesian spouse. It distinguishes formal company employment, for which RPTKA approval is required, from the separate discussion of informal work. Immigration’s published Rangkap Kegiatan requirements expressly include ITAS or ITAP, with documents for an Indonesian husband or wife acting as sponsor.
For accuracy, E31A is the spouse visa index associated with the temporary stay route. A spouse KITAP is a permanent stay permit; it should not automatically be described as an “E31A visa.” We check the actual permit, sponsor and current records before defining the application.

What is Concurrent Activity, or Rangkap Kegiatan?
Concurrent Activity, Rangkap Kegiatan, and the Multiple Activity Reporting Process refer here to the immigration procedure for adding the proposed work activity to an eligible existing stay permit.
The two parts of the case serve different purposes:

Your spouse remains the immigration sponsor for the family permit. Your company is the employer responsible for the employment application. These roles can coexist without creating a second ITAS.
For example, an eligible spouse ITAS holder taking a film-director role with a PT PMA would have the employment assessed through that company. The subsequent immigration application would relate that approved activity to the existing family permit. The job title remains subject to assessment; a proposed role is not approved simply because the applicant owns shares in the business.
Whose immigration account is used?
For a family permit sponsored by your Indonesian spouse, the Concurrent Activity application is submitted through your spouse’s immigration sponsor account. The published Immigration instructions require use of the guarantor’s account on the official eVisa portal.
This is separate from the company’s Kemnaker TKA Online account, which is used for the manpower stage.

Check access before planning your start date. A company may have an account but no longer control its registered email. A spouse may have an existing immigration profile managed previously by another representative. Flado can assist with access recovery or required account work; additional services are quoted separately.
The immigration application is handled through the office responsible for the permit and residence. Filing online does not remove the office’s review of the supporting records.
How much does RPTKA plus Concurrent Activity cost?
The following are Flado’s service fees for this route, quoted as of 16 September 2026.

When does the IDR 4,500,000 RPTKA fee apply?
This is the price for an application that is ready to submit properly. It assumes that the company’s registration and documents, the applicant’s supporting records, and the proposed employment details are already prepared.
Having an NIB, a company deed and a TKA Online login is a useful start. It does not necessarily mean every requirement has been completed. Where Flado must arrange additional company preparation, account support, document correction or other services, those items are charged separately.

How long does the IDR 2,000,000 reporting stage take?
Flado’s estimated processing time for Concurrent Activity is 5 working days after complete submission, with account access available and the preceding manpower requirements completed.
This estimate applies to the immigration reporting stage only. It is not a five-day promise for the entire RPTKA and employment process. Requests for further documents, account recovery or government review can extend the schedule.
DKPTKA: the government levy is separate
The applicable foreign-worker compensation levy, commonly referred to as DKPTKA or DPKK, is separate from Flado’s service fees. Keeping a spouse permit does not mean the employer should omit a government charge applicable to its employment case.
The calculator’s DKPTKA section shows a planning amount of USD 1,200 for a 12-month case. The approved term and actual government billing determine the amount payable; an IDR estimate is not a fixed exchange-rate guarantee.
The employer can arrange payment independently using the issued billing instructions. Alternatively, Flado can handle the payment: the published handling charge is 20% of the DKPTKA amount, with currency conversion based on the applicable payment-date arrangements. This handling service is optional.
Your budget therefore has three separate components: Flado’s base services, any additional preparation, and the government levy with optional payment handling.
What should you prepare?
For the initial review, send Flado your current permit and expiry date, sponsor details, proposed employer, job title, work location or locations, intended start date and requested employment duration. Tell us if a KITAS extension or KITAP conversion is already planned.
For the immigration filing, the published checklist includes the sponsor’s application and guarantee, sponsor KTP, passport, current ITAS or ITAP, spouse and marriage records, and relevant employment and corporate documents. ITAP holders have additional population-document requirements. A representative may also need a power of attorney. The responsible office can request case-specific supporting evidence. After payment for the agreed services, Flado assigns a personal manager for detailed document analysis and coordination. Your manager identifies what is ready, what needs attention, and which additional services are relevant before proceeding with that extra work.
What if your spouse ITAS expires soon or you plan to obtain KITAP?
Plan the employment term together with your residence timeline. Kemnaker’s published guidance states that employment approval for this mixed-marriage route follows the validity of the existing spouse-sponsored stay permit. It also explains that an EPO and departure are not needed merely to change to a work visa under this arrangement. See the Ministry of Manpower guidance.
For planning purposes, if you request 12 months of employment but have only six months left on your ITAS, the proposed schedule needs review. Do not assume the application will produce an employment term extending beyond your existing permit.
If you intend to convert to spouse KITAP, tell Flado before the work application starts. The conversion and the handling of the registered work activity should be coordinated as separate steps. Support’s E31A response did not confirm an individual applicant’s KITAP eligibility or promise automatic transfer of the work record.

How is this different from a regular Working KITAS?
Most Flado clients coming to Indonesia for a contract with a registered employer use the company-sponsored employment route. For those cases, the relevant manpower approvals and obligations generally come first, followed by the appropriate work visa and ITAS.
The E23–E27 work-related visa categories cover different employment purposes. The correct category depends on the actual role and sector; they are not interchangeable choices. In both cases, the actual employer, occupation, approved work locations and term matter. Retaining family residence is not an unrestricted authorisation to take any job with any company.

Is marriage to an Indonesian citizen the only possible exception?
No. It would be inaccurate to describe the spouse route as the only residence category that can accommodate an additional activity. For example, Immigration’s current E33 Second Home visa page also mentions work through multiple-activity reporting, subject to the applicable rules.
This article focuses on the WNI-sponsored spouse route. A dependent permit sponsored by another foreigner should not automatically be treated as equivalent. If you lack an eligible existing status and are taking a company job, the appropriate work visa/ITAS is the usual starting point for assessment.
Why the employer’s preparation still matters: recent Flado cases
Keeping your family stay permit can avoid an unnecessary new visa application. The employer’s file still needs careful work.
In our published PT Helm Care Indonesia case, the proposed Mechanical Advisor role received an objection. The case progressed under Technical Manager, with further supporting evidence requested before verification was approved and the process moved towards DKPTKA billing.
Our PT Living Landscapes Indonesia case reached the requested two-year approval at the manpower stage. That milestone was described separately from the remaining immigration process, rather than presented as an already issued two-year KITAS.

Frequently asked questions
Do I need to cancel my E31A spouse ITAS before applying for RPTKA?
For the route confirmed to Flado by Immigration, the sequence is RPTKA followed by Concurrent Activity while retaining the family permit. Do not order an EPO merely because you have received a job offer.
Can I start work as soon as the company submits the application?
Submission is not approval. Ask your manager to confirm completion of the applicable employment and immigration steps before starting the proposed duties.
Is IDR 6,500,000 the complete cost, including government payments?
No. It is the combined base service fee for a ready case: IDR 4,500,000 for the RPTKA application and IDR 2,000,000 for Concurrent Activity. The applicable government levy and additional services are separate.
Does the five-working-day estimate include RPTKA?
No. It covers Concurrent Activity after complete submission. The manpower stage and any preparation must be scheduled separately.
Can Flado help if the spouse’s immigration account is inaccessible?

Should I buy the full Working KITAS package from the calculator?
If you are retaining an eligible spouse permit, request the specific RPTKA plus Concurrent Activity scope. The calculator remains useful for additional-service rates and DKPTKA planning, but its new Working KITAS total is not the price for this route.
