What is an ITAP?

This permit is suitable for those who plan to stay in Indonesia for extended periods, such as foreign investors, workers, retirees, or individuals married to Indonesian citizens.

General Requirements for New and Extension ITAP Applications

To apply for a new ITAP or extend an existing one, the following general documents are required:

  1. Application Letter: A formal request to obtain or extend an ITAP.
  2. Guarantee Letter: A letter from a guarantor (sponsor) in Indonesia.
  3. Letter of Attorney with Meterai Stamp: Required if the application is submitted by a representative.

1. Investors

  • NIB (Business Identification Number), SIUP, & Izin Lokasi: Business registration documents.
  • Company’s NPWP (Taxpayer Registration Number): The company’s tax registration.
  • Company Bank Statement (last 2 months): Proof of the company’s financial standing.
  • Minimum Capital Requirement: The company must have a minimum capital of 15 billion rupiah.

2. Workers

For those applying for an ITAP as a worker, additional documents include:

  • RPTKA (Foreign Manpower Utilization Plan): Approved by the Ministry of Manpower.
  • IMTA (Working Permit): Or a letter of exemption from the Ministry of Manpower.
  • Company’s NPWP (Taxpayer Registration Number): The company’s tax ID.
  • Company’s Deed of Establishment & SK Kumham: Legal proof of the company’s operations.

3. Elderly

4. Family Reunification

For those applying for ITAP under family reunification (Indonesian or foreign spouses, children joining Indonesian or foreign parents), additional documents include:

  • Indonesian/Foreign Spouse:
    • Marriage certificate translated into Indonesian by a sworn translator (except if written in English).
    • Letter of marriage report from the Civil Registry Office.
    • RPTKA (Foreign Manpower Utilization Plan) if applicable.
    • IMTA (Working Permit) if applicable.
    • Copy of the Permanent Stay Permit Card of the spouse.
  • Children Joining Indonesian/Foreigner Parents:

For former Indonesian citizens who have lost their citizenship and wish to return:

  • Documentary Evidence from the Indonesian Embassy: Proof of loss of Indonesian citizenship.
  • Official Documentation from the Indonesian Government: Proof that the individual is a former Indonesian citizen (Indonesian passport, Indonesian ID card, Birth Certificate).

6. Clergymen

For religious professionals, additional requirements are:

  • Letter of Recommendation from the Ministry of Religious Affairs: Required endorsement for religious work.
  • RPTKA (Foreign Manpower Utilization Plan): If applicable.
  • IMTA (Working Permit): If engaged in religious activities requiring it.
  • Religion Foundation’s Deed of Establishment: Proof of the organization’s legal status.

Procedure for New ITAP and ITAP Extension
